The
internet age has most certainly changed the way modern football
supporters follow their team. The wave of superb unofficial
websites has taken over from the traditional fanzine bought
on a matchday, bringing goal video clips, interactive chat
rooms and daily updateable news all pulled together in a
smartly presented format, a far cry from the toilet-paper
thin newsletters of old.
With
the thousands of independent football websites around at
the moment, it was inevitable that someone would want to
find the best. Enter 4Football, the independent football
website awards 2003/04.
4Football
are looking for webmasters to submit
their unofficial sites to the awards for this season to
find out not only the most impressive site online, but also
to find out which UK football club has the best representation
on the internet. Every sites score will go towards their
clubs total and position in the 4Football league, a ranking
produced to see if the top teams really are the best clubs
in the land.
Submission
is free and winning sites will be rewarded with superb football
memorabilia prizes at the end of the season. Not only this,
but all sites will be part of the 4Football
independent directory, the perfect online reference
for football supporters.
The
judging panel includes five football fans and professionals
in the fields of design, photography and the written word.
Marks will be given for the quality of the content, design,
features and the online community developed through chat
rooms and message boards.
