   4Football Awards Review 2003/04

As the season ended with Arsenal unbeaten in the league and Man Utd taking the FA Cup it was time for us to decide on the winners in the 4Football awards.

Around 500 football sites were submitted over the course of the season, the overall standard being very high making it a tricky task for us to judge and choose the one site worthy of the title 'Best independent football website of the season'.

As well as top design, quality content and dynamic features, we were looking for the sites that stood out from the crowd and respresented their respective clubs with individuality.

One of the first to catch our eye was the Everton site ToffeeWeb. With its daily updated and well informed news items combined with special reports, ToffeeWeb had the basis for a good site. Add to this a wealth of club information, a busy fans forum and sharp design with simple navigation, we felt it deserved to be rated one of the best sites around, especially for Everton fans.

But not the best! CFC-Net is a Chelsea site claiming to have "The intelligent forum for Chelsea fans". The team have employed a crisp design to display daily news items and regular features from guest writers. Pete from CFC-Net explains; "As you can imagine representing the 'most talked about club on the
planet' has been very hard work at times and we feel that such an award is testament for the many hours put in by the staff of CFCnet."

The ToffeeWeb team have won themselves a signed photographic print of Striker Wayne Rooney which they will be kindly auctioning off with proceeds going to the Everton Former Players Association.

The CFC-Net team have won an official Chelsea shirt signed by Argentinian Hernan Crespo.

Manchester United have been crowned 'Best Represented Site on the Web' due to there final tally of 96 points, narrowly beating Liverpool. Click here to view the final league table and see your clubs position.

Everyone at 4Football would like to thank all webmasters for their support during the season. We will be sending out banners for the winners of each club award as soon as they are decided after Euro 2004.

Enjoy the summer and we'll be checking out your sites come August!
